Character & Canon: Miss Pauling from Team Fortress 2
District: Highcrest

Personality: Miss Pauling is a minor character in the Team Fortress 2 universe. Her first appearance in the comic titled The Administrator, where she discovers that the BLU Soldier and the RED Demoman are becoming close, something against regulation for the company. Her demeanor here is a little meek, in that she says 'um' before a few of her sentences, and almost comments that the friendship between the opposing mercenaries is nice, but, in a bout of fear for the Administrator, she immediately changes her mind and agrees that the friendship is wrong. In this comic, Miss Pauling informs the Administrator that friends 'go skating, read gun magazines, and talk,' letting the reader know a bit about her hobbies and interests.

Miss Pauling's appearance is that of a fairly young woman, somewhere in her late twenties or early thirties. She wears purple, which is the color created when one mixes blue and red, which are the colors the BLU and RED team mercenaries wear, respectively. Her choice of clothing color can symbolize that she shows no preference to either team and would inform the Administrator what any of the mercenaries do when need be, without feelings getting in the way.

Another of Miss Pauling's appearances, in the comic entitled Meet the Director, shows her to be tougher and a lot less meek than before. She brushes off RED Scout's advances, further proving she has no feelings or preference for any of the mercenaries, and has absolutely no problem with murdering and burying the Director when instructed to do so by the Administrator.

Miss Pauling is loyal to herself and her work, as further proven in her personals ad. Sure, she would like to eventually settle down and find love, but seeing as how she works 364 days a year (with her one day off most likely being Christmas, or 'Smissmas' as it is called in the TF2Verse) her job comes first. She even comments in this ad that her ideal partner most likely doesn't exist, since she works so much and requires that her partner do the same.

Miss Pauling is secretive, in that she would never risk her job by telling others too much about it. But in the end, she still has fairly common interests for a woman her age: haircuts and skating. The gun thing? Well, that may not be so common, but it's something she obviously enjoys.

The Administrator: Miss Pauling's FIRST appearance. She discovers that BLU Soldier and RED Demo are becoming close, and informs the Administrator. Her demeanor is slightly meek, in that she states 'um' a few times, but she gets the message across. She almost says that the friendship is (nice? something positive) but upon seeing her boss's reaction about the situation, changes opinion quickly.

Meet the Director: Miss Pauling is with the Director and RED Sniper at the beginning of this comic. Her demeanor is far less meek than it was in the last comic, and she even comments to the Administrator that most of the mercenaries' IQs are sub-normal.

RED Scout hits on her, but she is obviously Not Impressed.

Miss Pauling obviously has no qualms about killing and burying the Director.

A Smissmas Story: Miss Pauling's appearance here is brief, but she lays down the line when talking to BLU Spy about making sure the mercenaries stop ruining Smissmas for everyone at the mall. Of course, Spy then has to go and give the phone to a kid, ignoring what Pauling says, and she insists the kid runs away and does not follow Spy's directions, but nothing ever turns out like she plans.

Fate Worse than Chess: Miss Pauling takes questions from the mercs about losing their jobs and being forced to fight robots together. She refuses to take any questions from Scout.

Shadow Boxers: Miss Pauling is here and conferring with the mercs about the robots. Upon hearing RED Soldier's tale of infiltrating the robot base, she is intrigued, and has no problems disguising as a robot to return there, even though in the end, it doesn't work out.
